An Interactive Art Retreat Inspired by the Book of Esther
Every detail was designed to help participants slow down, create, and experience the story of Esther in a tangible way.
The Vision
This retreat invited participants to experience the story of Esther through both Scripture and creativity. Rather than simply hearing the story, each person was encouraged to engage with it through art, reflection, and discussion.
Every design decision supported that goal—from the welcome bags to the tabletop workspace—creating an environment that felt calm, prepared, and inviting.
Bringing the Theme to Life
The design wasn’t meant to illustrate the story as much as prepare people to enter it. Functional supplies, symbolic elements, and comfortable touches worked together to create a space where participants could focus on creating rather than searching for what they needed.

Beautiful gatherings aren’t just about how a room looks—they’re about how every detail serves the people in it.
Welcome Bags
The welcome bags were designed to anticipate participants’ needs before the first session began. Art supplies, retreat materials, tissues, and small comforts were all within reach, allowing participants to stay present rather than searching for what they needed. At the end of the weekend, the same bags provided an easy way to take completed artwork home.
A Creative Workspace
Every table was arranged to function as both a gathering space and an art studio. Shared supplies encouraged creativity while remaining organized and accessible, making it easy for participants to transition between listening, creating, and conversation.
Scripture at the Center
Rather than using a traditional floral centerpiece, each table was anchored by an open Bible with a crown resting across its pages—a simple visual reminder that the weekend wasn’t centered on art, but on the story of Esther and the God who remained faithful throughout it.
Beauty with Purpose
Every element was chosen to serve more than one purpose. The tables needed to be beautiful enough to create anticipation, functional enough to support hours of creative work, and comfortable enough to help participants settle in and engage with the retreat.
